We already know that Oscar nominees love the Academy Awards promotional sweatshirts, but it looks like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is hoping everyone else loves them too. According to Deadline, the Academy has found a new revenue stream in the form of the first-ever Oscar pop-up shop alongside the Hollywood red carpet.

The Oscar pop-up shop will be open Feb. 28 to March 2, or when merchandise sells out. The store will be open in the former Louis Vuitton outlet, and the merchandise will not be available online.

In terms of merchandise available for purchase, the store will sell “hats, hoodies and other Oscar” paraphernalia, according to Deadline.

This is the Academy Awards’ first venture into brick-and-mortar retail. Previously, the Academy sold merchandise online and in person to fans in the bleachers. Will this move prove a profitable one for the awards show? We would assume yes, considering a pop-up shop on Hollywood Blvd. will be a huge draw for tourists looking to be a part of the exciting awards season.

So far, there’s no preview of the specific merchandise available, but if the frenzy over the promotional sweatshirts is any indication, we’re certain they’ll be hot commodities.
