The employee owners of Newton Manufacturing, Newton, Iowa, broke their own giving record during the company’s annual fundraising drive for the United Way of Jasper County. The company raised over $11,800 during the campaign that ran throughout the month of October.
“We are a company that cares about our community,” said Angie Mowbray, co-chair of the company’s United Way committee. “We were very proud of the participation and generosity of our employee owners.”
In addition to individual pledges, money was raised through several events held during the month. For a minimal donation to participate, employees enjoyed activities including game day, popcorn and movies on Hollywood day, rock ‘n’ roll day with malts, a silent auction, a pot luck and casual days.
