The Beacon Employee Committee for Beacon Promotions, New Ulm, Minn., recently held a silent auction and bake sale, with all proceeds going to the United Way of Brown County. Employees contributed baked goods and Beacon Promotions donated many small electronic items that were bid on by company mployees.
“United Way of Brown County thanks Beacon Promotions for their recent donation of over $1300 from their recent bake sale, said Donna Lambrecht, director of the United Way of Brown County. “That amount greatly surpasses last year’s donation of just over $800. These funds are critical as we expand our Imagination Library program (over 1,000 children are receiving a hardcover book in the mail each month to help them be better prepared for kindergarten).”
“We also put together 475 backpacks for children in kindergarten through grade 8 whose families qualify for free meals (last year we only had the capacity to pack 175 backpacks). And we continue to expand our youth scholarship program as we fund children age 4-grade 12 so that they might participate in after-school programs,” Lambrecht said.
