Halloween is right around the corner, but there’s still plenty of time to binge your favorite scary movies or catch some new ones. One of our personal favorites to watch is Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” the Disney classic. So we’re happy to report that Vans recently unveiled a “Nightmare Before Christmas” branded shoes and merch collection featuring characters and scenes from the movie.
Even though Halloween apparel is mostly only worn throughout the month of October, the kicks are cool enough to wear year round, especially for fans of Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Lock, Shock and Barrel. The coolest part about the collection is the way each item is crafted and designed with details right from the movie.

The Sally-inspired sneakers, crew pullover and backpack all resemble her dress and character from the movie. The rim of the Disney x Vans Era Stacked shoes feature stitch marks—similar to the ones on Sally—while the top of the shoes, the backpack and pullover all have designs from her dress.

As for the Jack Skellington-inspired apparel and shoes, there are a few options on the Vans website that mirrored the iconic image of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” with Jack standing in front of the moon. Plus, the shoes glow in the dark, so you can wear them day or night and still see the details.
From the Vans article that highlights the collection:
Arguably the most iconic scene, Jack’s Lament, is featured on the Sk8-Hi with each of the four panels showcasing a frame from Jack’s walk through the Halloween Town cemetery. A special message that reads “Nice Work, Bone Daddy” on the inside collar completes the design. Additionally, the Jack Pull Over Hoodie features a special rendition of Jack’s Lament with a Checkerboard spiral hill.

There’s also a pair of Vans slip-ons that highlight Jack’s suit he wears throughout the film.

Other items include long-sleeve T-shirts, hoodies, socks, jackets, backpacks and hats in both adult and youth sizes.
We’ve noticed how brands are now not only utilizing the entire space on the shoe—including the soles of shoes, like the Clueless collection we previously covered—but also the actual packaging and how it ties in with the theme.
For a well-known brand like Vans, choosing to go a different route from their original packaging was cool to see. All the details—from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” logo on the top, the skull and bat detailing to complement the black shoe box, and the coffin-shaped “To:” and “From:” section—really sets the packaging apart.
