The idea that everything is bigger in Texas might need some modification, as a new tote bag from New York-based fashion brand Opening Ceremony checks in at 27 inches in height and 46 in width. While comical to observe, it could be the perfectly sensible solution to the question of “What do you get for the person who has everything?”

The clothing brand took to Instagram on Dec. 3, posting a video of a consumer using the massive item on the subway, and followed that with two Dec. 5 updates that explained that the product represents “our biggest tote ever.”
Eleven days into the release, we would love to know how receptive Big Apple residents and visitors have been to the Super Large Tote, with our curiosity making us wonder how many end-users are requesting one for Christmas or using it to store the spoils from their holiday shopping outings. Among those who have yet to purchase it, the demand has proven so great that they will need to wait until mid-January, per an Opening Ceremony website update.

While we know the dimensions of the tote, Opening Ceremony does not reveal how much the branded bag can contain, although we are hoping that for the $98 price tag, that thing could give the shelves at Fort Knox some competition. Since the company, after not even two weeks of making the product a retail offering, has already issued a restock notice, it is obvious that people are not finding the tote to be anywhere near the head-scratching item that we consider it.
Whatever inspired Opening Ceremony to create the bag, the head honchos are proving that they know their audience well and that if they decide to try to go bigger at any point, success will be in the bag.
