Tesla and its CEO/product architect, Elon Musk, saw their reputation fractured slightly in the fall when the reportedly bulletproof windows on the duo’s Cybertruck lost a battle with a metal ball. That setback did not deter Automobile Magazine from naming the sought-after ride its Concept Car of the Year award, and has not stopped the Tesla team from having a little fun thanks to the gaffe. The company is selling a Cybertruck bulletproof T-shirt to commemorate the pickup’s unfortunate encounter with the aforementioned object.

If Musk is not coming up with outside-the-box ideas each day, someone should check to see if he is still breathing. Such is his renown for seeing the status quo as a foe to his business vision. Through the Cybertruck, Musk is hoping to revolutionize travel, and had thought he could boast of its bulletproof nature as another perk. That ambition, well, quickly shattered, but if we have come to learn anything about Musk, it’s that the 48-year-old can use his ever-active brain to make lemonade out of lemons or, in this case, money out of a mishap.

Selling for $45, the resulting men’s T-shirt comes in six sizes and features an image of broken glass on the front and the Cybertruck icon on the back. The garment is not exactly in line with the type of merchandise we had hoped to see when looking at the truck late last year, but perhaps it will gain clout as Musk and the Tesla team ponder the production cycle of the unusually sized method of transportation. And, hey, at least there’s finally Cybertruck merch in general.
Production on the trucks will reportedly begin late next year, so here’s hoping that the T-shirt that celebrates the Cybertruck as an all-electric battery-powered vehicle soon has some more customary promo companions.
