For most Philadelphians, Dietz & Watson is a household name. The deli brand has also been known to dabble in branded merch, as we saw in its pop-up stores that sold items like “Dietz Nuts” boxers alongside meats, cheeses and other snacks. Now, Dietz & Watson has created something new that benefits certain cities that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. From now until June 21, 50 percent of all purchases from its “Lounge for Good” online store will be donated to small businesses and charities. “Being comfy never felt so good,” the description reads. We couldn’t agree more.
Working from home, a lot of us have resorted to wearing more sweatpants or loungewear—even if it means we wear a dressy shirt on top and comfy pants. With these pieces of loungewear available in the collection, end-users can feel less guilty about not dressing up, especially since the proceeds are going to charity.
Dietz & Watson is “focusing on a different charity each week to support the communities,” according to the website description. Over the next few weeks, proceeds will go towards local charities in San Diego, New York, Baltimore and Michigan—including Feeding San Diego, City Harvest, Maryland FoodBank and Greaner’s Community Food Bank. This week, it’s all about Philabundance here in Philly.

The company shared the news on its Instagram page a couple days ago, and after checking out the “Lounge for Good” online store, some of our personal favorites are the “Meat Sweats” sweatshirt, “Eatin’ Pants” joggers and the “Safe Sandwiching” tee. The “Eatin’ Pants” are definitely something most of us could use right about now, and the description sums everything up perfectly: “Tell everyone you’re putting on your eatin’ pants. Then actually do it.”
These are just a few of the items listed. There are also other T-shirts and apparel, a new reusable water bottle (currently out of stock), and, of course, plenty of snacking choices. You can’t forget about the Dietz nuts!
While brands are continuing to share how they’re helping out during the pandemic, it’s awesome to see a well-known brand—especially one that’s local to us—supporting charities through merchandise. If the reusable water bottle is any indication of how quickly this collection is selling, fans looking to get their hands on some Dietz & Watson merch should act fast.
