Cheshire, Connecticut-based Barker Specialty Company (BSC) was the proud recipient of the 2010 NEPPA (New England Promotional Products Association) Humanitarian Award which included a $250.00 check to a charity of BSC’s choice at NEPPA’s annual holiday dinner.
BSC has been community oriented since its founding nearly 60 years ago. Beginning with Herb and Gloria Barker, and passed throughout the company, BSC has always focused on what the Barker Family considers the 3 C’s: Commitment to Customers (total focus on service), Commitment to Company (taking care of employees and suppliers), and Commitment to the Community (corporate social responsibility). BSC has made many donations to local groups, organizations and charitable events exceeding $500,000 in the past five years, as well as encouraging their employees to volunteer and participate in many community organizations.
For this award, BSC selected ‘r kids FAMILY CENTER in New Haven, CT. ‘r kids FAMILY CENTER provides specialized, high quality services to children in out-of-home care and their families; promoting permanency, safety and stability for children through services to their biological, foster or adoptive families- www.rkidsct.org.
