Midwest Single Source, Wichita, Kan., is celebrating the acquisition of a large mail house in Kansas City. Computer Mailing Incorporated (CMI) will operate as a branch of Midwest Single Source starting in October 2011. Midwest Single Source has operated in downtown Wichita as a distributor of printing, promotional products, direct mail and office supplies for 35 years.
“We could not be more excited to combine the strengths of CMI’s volume and longevity to our operation,” said John Osborne, owner of Midwest Single Source. “After 35 years of operation in downtown Wichita, it is time to expand into Kansas City. Our clients have asked us to increase our volume for them as they reduce their own print shops—and we wanted to be in a position to say yes. This purchase allows us to do that.”
An anniversary celebration is planned at Abode Venue for October 5 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Abode Venue, one of the newest event spaces in downtown Wichita, is located at 1330 E. Douglas.
“I can remember celebrating our first year in business and being thankful that we had that under our belt,” said Osborne. “To be positioned for growth after 35 years is amazing, and I couldn’t have done it without the enthusiasm and insight of a young and spirited management team. They have truly been responsible for visionary second-generation leadership. They saw opportunities that I might have missed. Technology is a ‘given’ in their world and we are a better company for it.”
“John is a visionary entrepreneur. He brought his keen business sense to Midwest Single Source, setting the stage for this level of success. We are proud to call Wichita our home and look forward to bringing our brand of service, quality and dedication to the Kansas City market,” said Sarah Strydom, the marketing coordinator for Midwest Single Source. “With the acquisition of CMI we’ve found yet another way to adapt and further benefit of our clients.”
