With the first day of exhibits at The PPAI Expo in Las Vegas over, attendees and exhibitors alike are assessing the show and the impact it will have on their businesses. Promo Marketing sat down with a number of suppliers and distributors to get their first impressions from the show floor.
“The show has been extremely successful,” said Lauren Fox, sales and marketing manager for Fresh Beginnings, Valdosta, Ga. “We have been slammed all day.” Compared with last year’s show, Fox said, “It’s been a lot heavier traffic for us and we’ve been very pleased with the conversations we’ve been having.”
Christopher Duffy, vice president of marketing for Union, Illinois-based Bag Makers, expressed a similar sentiment. “It’s off to a very strong start,” he said. “We had a lot of traffic so far and people are staying and letting us tell them what the new products are.”
Distributors are equally excited about the opportunities available at the show. Eleven-year industry veteran Robert Brown of Maximum Business Solutionsa, Hammond, Ind., said the show has been “real good so far. I’ve found two vendors that are going to be immediately helpful for me and for providing solutions for my current customer base.”
Overall, the response has been positive. “We’re having a great show,” said David Miller, president of Freeport, New York-based Chocolate Inn. “It’s a great crowd and the weather hasn’t stopped people from coming down.”
