HanesBrands Appoints Elizabeth Burger as Chief Human Resources Officer

HanesBrands, Winston-Salem, N.C., announced the appointment of Elizabeth L. Burger to the position of chief human resources officer.

Burger, 42, joins HanesBrands from Monsanto Company, where she was vice president of human resources for global business operations. She has nearly 20 years of human resources experience, including acquisition integration, business strategy development, organizational design, international operations, and compensation, diversity and employee engagement program design.

Burger will have responsibility for all HanesBrands human resources functions globally and will report to chairman and chief executive officer Richard A. Noll. Burger succeeds Kevin W. Oliver, who led the recruitment of Burger as his successor and will retire as planned after a short transition period. He joined HanesBrands as the leader of human resources in 2005.

“We are thrilled to have Elizabeth join our senior management team,” Noll said. “She is an excellent leader who has strong HR expertise, international operational knowledge and management experience. She will be integral to the execution of our business strategies, which requires a business savvy human resources function.

“Kevin Oliver has been an outstanding company leader and contributor to our success as we have built a stronger, more competitive and more profitable enterprise. He will be missed, but we wish him the very best.”
