NC Custom announced today that it has acquired the assets of Fresh Beginnings, which just ceased operations last month after 30 years in business.
“We have a great deal of respect for the Fresh Beginnings business, and the product quality and taste of their freshly baked goods,” David Miller, president of NC Custom, said in a press release. “This addition complements the success of several recent bakery category offerings, and further strengthens our current position as a market-leading manufacturers in what we see as an untapped segment in the market.”
NC Custom will reportedly relocate Fresh Beginnings’ manufacturing operations from Georgia to its Hicksville, N.Y., home base. NC Custom CEO Lance Steer also said that “some key [Fresh Beginnings] personnel will also be involved” in the relocated business.
As part of the acquisition, NC Custom will add Fresh Beginnings’ personalized fulfillment and event support capabilities, allowing customers to create one-off, drop-shipped products for events. NC Custom also says it will continue to use the same recipes that Fresh Beginnings has used for decades.
“Fresh Start and NC Custom share the values—a passion for customer service and a passion for product excellence in the United States,” Steer said in the statement. “Since the company’s inception, the business has been laser-focused on delivering a top-notch customer experience—we are excited to ‘bake it happen’ by building upon that legacy plus add a range of our products to create new, unique and exciting experiences.”
