Once again, Xbox’s rectangular console has shown an opportunity for simple but straightforward branding. We’ve seen it with pizza-scented controllers for the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” movie, and a dreamhouse-themed console for Barbie.
Bluey: The Video Game, based on the hit Australian animated children’s show “Bluey,” hit shelves last week. And while the devil works hard, marketing teams work harder. To promote the game, Xbox has introduced a Bluey-themed Xbox Series with a matching controller, and there is only one of each in existence.

Now, a dog certainly isn’t rectangular, but Xbox found a way to make it work. The Console dons the eyes, ears, and snout of the beloved animated dog.
To score the annoyingly adorable themed console, Microsoft is giving away the Bluey Xbox and controller as part of a sweepstakes. For a chance at scoring the Bluey Xbox, you’ll need to follow Xbox on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter (Thanks, Elon), and retweet the company’s sweepstakes tweet. Bluey fans have until Dec. 13 to retweet to their heart’s desire.
But again, this all goes to show that you can take something as mundane as a rectangle and jazz it up to engage with customers in a fun and not overly exhausting way.
