Ask the Accountant…
Question: The price of QuickBooks has gone up a ridiculous amount, and it’s a subscription now. Is there any way to avoid the subscription?
Answer: Unfortunately not. I agree that subscriptions are a pain, but I can see a benefit to having your accounting software as a subscription. With such, QB can update the software whenever new features and/or problems arise without waiting for next year’s release. It improves the support and ultimately, the product.
However, one big downside to a subscription for your accounting program is that you would lose access to your data should you cancel or fail to pay your subscription fee.
