What happens when your customer’s next print buyer is not a person visiting your website, emailing a CSR or calling for a quote, but an AI agent tasked with finding the best supplier and placing the order?
AI agents are beginning to move ecommerce beyond answering questions and recommending products. Increasingly, these systems can search for products, compare suppliers, collect pricing, evaluate options and take actions on a buyer’s behalf.
For commercial printers, this raises an important question. Will AI agents eventually become part of the print procurement process?
Printers have spent years making it easier for human buyers to find them online, request quotes and place orders. The next stage of AI in printing may require making that same information accessible and understandable to software acting for those buyers.
