Paramount Apparel Expands Domestic Manufacturing Capabilities

Bourbon, Missouri-based headwear and apparel supplier Paramount Apparel International Inc. has recently leased a space in Ellington, Mo. to expand its domestic production capabilities. The 13,000 sq. ft. space will be used to manufacture headwear.

Fifteen years ago, Ellington housed one of Paramount’s many factories located in southern Missouri when the company had strictly domestic manufacturing. Currently, Paramount’s only domestic factory is located in Winona, Mo. Adding a second domestic embroidery facility will increase production for Paramount’s markets and channels of distribution.

“Returning to Ellington has been an important decision in making sure we have further production within the United States,” said Grant Clark, director of Paramount Apparel’s promotional products division. “We are happy to create new job opportunities for the people of Missouri. Reinventing a piece of Paramount’s past has been crucial for the future of our manufacturing.”

“We’ve been working with Ellington’s community leaders who have kindly welcomed us back,” added Kelly Long, director of human resources for Paramount.

The Ellington facility will grow over the next several months. As many as 60 employees are expected to be hired by the end of 2013.
