Geiger Acquires McWeeney Marketing Group

Top 50 promotional products distributor Geiger, based in Lewiston, Maine, has acquired McWeeney Marketing Group of Orange, Conn. The announcement was made jointly by Jim Habzda, senior vice president of sales for Geiger, and George McWeeney, president of McWeeney Marketing Group. The new affiliation was effective as of January 1, 2013.

“The McWeeney Marketing Group is a very professional, well regarded company in the Northeast,” Habzda said. “Geiger is pleased to be affiliated with a strong company whose philosophies align closely with ours.”

The origins of McWeeney Marketing Group, a full service promotional products company with clients from agricultural and industrial to the financial and insurance markets, initially got its start in 1970 with George McWeeney, Jr. and his father, George McWeeney, Sr., who started in the industry in 1948. The McWeeney Marketing Group was formed in 1989 and consists of the team of John Kelly, Frank Lukasik, Kali Dewey and George McWeeney.

The McWeeney Marketing Group team will remain in its Orange, Conn. headquarters and will retain its customer base. According to George McWeeney, “McWeeney Marketing will look to Geiger for expanded technology platforms and continued excellence in customer service. We look forward to the partnership and to growing our business with the Geiger team.”
