American Apparel Inc., Los Angeles, appointed Stacey Shulman as chief technology officer effective February 22, 2012. Shulman was previously the company’s vice president of technology and will have responsibility for American Apparel’s global information and technology operations.

She’s been an asset in creating technology solutions for our highly dynamic business model and I’m fully confident she’ll continue to do so with increased speed and effectiveness in this new role.”
Prior to joining American Apparel, Shulman was the vice president and CIO for Island Pacific/Retail Pro, a retail focused technology company. The solutions architected by Shulman and her previous teams are currently in use in over 100,000 retail locations in more than 75 countries. Shulman began her career in retail as a buyer and has worked with a large number of specialty and luxury branded retailers.
Shulman’s appointment is the the second high-level position announced by the company this week. On Tuesday, American Apparel hired Urban Outfitters alumni Jordan Schiff as the general merchandise manager, responsible for the company’s global merchandising strategy.
