Prime Line, the Bridgeport, Connecticut supplier, announced that it will donate 5 percent of sales from pink items between July 1 and October 31, 2012 to breast cancer research, education and support.
The company has created a special page on its website that showcases all of its pink items. In addition, Prime Line will post offers relating to pink items on its Facebook page throughout the three month period leading up to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
“Breast cancer is a devastating disease that has touched many lives inside and outside of our industry,” said Jeff Lederer, president of Prime Line. “When it comes to finding a cure, every little bit helps.”
Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. Just under 30 percent of cancers in women are breast cancers. About one eight U.S. women (just under 12 percent) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.
