In an award ceremony held on June 28, 2012, Pittsburgh-based Pro Towels Etc. was recognized as the 2012 Business of the Year by the Abbeville County Rotary Club. Accepting the award on behalf of Pro Towels Etc. was Tonya Cochran, art director; Greg Morrow, warehouse manager; and Jeremy Scott, vice president of operations.
By popular vote of The Rotary Club, Pro Towels Etc. had been chosen as the winner out of all the businesses and industries in Abbeville County. Tom Howie, the immediate past president of the Rotary Club said that Pro Towels Etc. had won the award this year hands down due to the company’s generosity in the community. Some organizations and causes that the company has donated to this year include: local churches, the Abbeville Seniors Center, Haven of Rest Ministries, Lake Russell Recreation and Tourist Coalition, Calhoun Falls Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, Paul’s Humane Society, local high schools, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, the Shrine Club, the Abbeville Humane Society, the Abbeville mental Health Organization, the Hash Bash, GAFCU and the Abbeville Youth Athletic Fund.
“This honor was unexpected but very much appreciated,” Scott said. “It is a tremendous honor for the South Carolina facility and our entire organization. The community has supported us during our 23 year history in Abbeville.”
