With MLB spring training set to begin this week, teams have quickly been rolling out their promotional schedules to get fans excited for the coming season. While the classic promotions always resonate with fans—rally towels, T-shirts, etc.—it’s the unique giveaways that set a team apart.
We at Promo Marketing have been combing through MLB promotional schedules to choose a handful of unique giveaways to check out, but rest assured, there are way too many to count.
1. Tampa Bay Rays – Laundry Hamper:
On Aug. 7, the Rays will give away a laundry hamper to kids 14 and younger. Seems like the perfect passive-aggressive way to teach kids the value of cleaning up after themselves.
2. New York Yankees – Coloring Book:
Another giveaway just for the kids, Party City is sponsoring a coloring book night. However, adult coloring books are growing in popularity lately so this actually would be a great promotional product for everyone.
3. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – Trout Wall Catch Figurine:
Fans attending the May 20 game against the Baltimore Orioles will receive this clever figurine commemorating Mike Trout’s catch against the Seattle Mariners from September.
4. Pittsburgh Pirates – Free Shirt Friday:
If there’s one thing that fans love, it’s T-shirts. Apparently, the Pirates got the memo, and, on July 22, fans will be treated to this awesome T-shirt giveaway presented by Mrs. T’s Pierogies.
5. Cleveland Indians – Ugly Christmas T-shirt:
Celebrate the tried-and-true tradition of Christmas in July with the Indians and this festive giveaway.
6. Minnesota Twins – Fur Bomber Hat:
When you’re an avid baseball fan in a colder city, like Minneapolis, you need a little extra warmth to get through those colder games, and this giveaway is sure to do the trick.
7. Atlanta Braves – “Chipper Rescues Freddie” ATV Bobblehead:
The Braves really delved into the inside jokes for their promotional bobblehead giveaways this year. Although there is no image available for this bobblehead yet, the image above should give fans a hint of what’s to come.
