Michael and Anita Emoff, owners of Shumsky Promotional, Dayton, Ohio, recently established a scholarship fund through Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) in the name of Michael’s mother, Jayne Emoff Miller.
Miller was a second generation owner of Shumsky Promotional, one of the early diversity businesses certified as a woman-owned business, from the mid-1980s to the mid-2000s. She was a part of Shumsky Promotional for more than 40 years—selling, leading and molding teams. She developed her skills from a combination of the mentoring she received from her parents, trial and error, industry education, and her peers. She was very passionate about helping underprivileged children.
“It is with complete sincerity that I say that I would not be where I am today without the generosity of the donors of PPEF,” said Aisha Walker, a former scholarship recipient, in a press release. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping make my dream of graduating from college as a first-generation student become a reality.”
“We are humbled to offer financial assistance to the continuing education and growth of professionalism through PPEF,” said Michael Emoff, Miller’s son. “My mother was a pioneer in this industry, so it means a lot to me and my family for her to be remembered in this way. She would be beaming with happiness to know this fund has been established in her name.”
