Alo Introduces New Proprietary Technologies and Eco-Friendly Apparel

Created for on-the-go individuals, Alo, a women’s and men’s performance apparel brand based in Los Angeles, introduced new styles, unique proprietary technologies and new fabric mixes in its 2008 wholesale collection.

Alo, named after the air, land and ocean, prides itself on being a company with a strong connection to the environment. With the inclusion of bamboo in some of its fabric mixes for the 2008 wholesale collection, Alo fortified its mission to help reduce its impact on the environment while positioning itself as a pioneer in the wholesale industry utilizing eco-friendly materials. The bamboo lyocell performance fabric has naturally inherent properties that wick moisture and is naturally anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic.

In addition to the debut of the all new bamboo jersey fabrication, Alo also introduced two other new fabrications: the mini thermal knit and the polyester soft shell. Made for all-season wear, the mini thermal knit is a medium-weight thermal performance knit fabric featuring CoolFit technology and an added antimicrobial treatment. The polyester soft shell, featuring a water-resistant technology, is a sleek, yet durable, multipurpose performance fabrication that works alone or with other layers to help accommodate temperature changes more easily.

New wholesale styles for men include: thermal polos, among other polos perfect for a corporate setting; shorts and track pants, both of which are uncommon for men’s lines. New wholesale styles for women include: bamboo racerback tanks, bamboo short-sleeve tees, bamboo long-sleeve tees, half zip pullovers, runner’s shorts, water-resistant shell jackets and pants, and headbands.

Including bamboo, the 2008 Alo wholesale collection features six performance technologies: CoolFit displays a dry wicking capability that draws moisture away from the body, keeping the individual cool and comfortable. StretchFlex allows the fabric of each garment a lasting recovery to ensure great fit use after use and provides comfort and freedom of movement during activity.

Alo also features an antimicrobial treatment in many performance-driven pieces to prevent the increase of bacteria and keep clothes odor free. Alo’s anti-pilling treatment, when applied to the surface of a garment, leads to long-lasting wear with a smoother surface and minimal pilling. Alo also introduces a water-resistant treatment in its 2008 women’s collection that helps to shed water on the outer surface of the garment to repel wind and light rain.

The new collection offers 13 unique fabric mixes, each meant to provide optimal comfort during any daily activity: birdseye knit jacquard, circle knit jacquard, poly spandex compression, peached knit jersey, interloop terry knit, nylon spandex jersey, nylon puffer, knit interlock, bonded micro-fiber, microfleece, the all new mini thermal knit, bamboo jersey and polyester soft shell. Each piece, regardless of the fabric mix or technology, is embroidery, embellishment or screenprint-ready.
