We remember when we were little and our parents treated us to kids’ meals at a fast food restaurant. It wasn’t just because we got to eat burgers and fries, we really were looking forward to the toys the restaurants gave out. Unfortunately, many of us no longer have those fun giveaways anymore. But one video game enthusiast not only has managed to hold onto a Game Boy giveaway from Burger King from 2000, he upgraded it to make it a functioning video game system.
According to Game N Guide, a Reddit user known as “ChaseLambeth” posted pictures of the plastic Game Boy Color toy with a Raspberry Pi Zero computer system to create a console to play modern video games on a very outdated device.

With creativity and some tech know-how, this user made what could have been a short-lived promotion into an every-day device even 16 years after receiving the item. Who knows what end-users will do with the products they receive in the future?
