Results of our Presidential Poll Mostly Echo Electoral Map, but Not Quite

Over the past week, we ran a poll asking readers their opinions of President Trump after his first week in office.

After more than 300 readers responded, we found the results to be fairly polarized. 42 percent answered “very bad,” 37 percent said “very good,” 10 percent said “good,” 4 percent were neutral and 7 percent said they had a “bad” impression of Trump after his first week.

Now, we also asked participants to disclose where in the U.S. they lived. We found the largest number of people who answered “very good” came from the Midwest, slightly above the South. The largest number of people who answered “very bad” was a tie between the Northeast and the West.

This makes sense, given the results for this election.

Some of you might also remember that we ran a similar poll in October.

At that time, 53 percent of readers were in favor of Donald Trump, while 33 percent were in favor of Hillary Clinton. 14 percent were undecided.

We also found that 46 percent of readers were registered Republican, 24 percent were registered Democrat and 30 percent were not registered for either party.
