Nostalgic About AOL? One Apparel Company Is

Nostalgia for the ’90s has been wildly popular recently. Budding adults are fondly remembering their favorite cartoons, movies and music from childhood, and a lot of that nostalgia has made its way onto products—think retro snapback hats. But, is anyone wistfully remembering their time using America Online? Urban Outfitters thinks so, at least.

Granted, a lot of street wear is soaked in irony before it goes to the printing press, so that could be the basis of this T-shirt—which, by the way, costs $45. It definitely looks like the kind of T-shirt someone might get at a conference in the mid ’90s.

Going by 1995 figures (thanks to Forever Geek), $45 would have gotten you about 17 hours of online access.

Time reported that the T-shirt’s creator, Altru Apparel, has really gone all in with the whole AOL nostalgia. It even has an AOL-themed commercial for another shirt design.

Not enough of a blast from the past? Altru Apparel also makes clothing with the Polaroid logo, proving that the company platform is based around nostalgia for inconvenient, antiquated platforms.
