We’ve been tracking millennial pink’s dominance in the apparel world. But, it looks like the popular hue might have peaked, and influencers are taking bets on who’s taking its place, according to The Guardian.
Jane Monnington Boddy, color director of trend forecasting agency WGSN, proposed that pink is on the decline, and hit its peak in 2016. For spring/summer 2019, Monnington Boddy proposed a few new shades taking over.
“We will see primary tones again, rather than what’s happening at the moment, which is quite fashiony and pretty,” she said.
Specifically, red, yellow and sky blue will be huge, she said. Monnington Boddy pointed to Rihanna, Beyoncé and Emma Stone’s yellow outfits as indicators of the color’s fashion emergence. By 2019, she predicts yellows of various shades being mixed with neon greens and pinks.
Monnington Boddy also predicted on-trend avocado green and lilac will make their fashion debuts in 2018.
For those in the promotional apparel business, perhaps you should get ahead on some of these color trends, and incorporate them into your next product offerings.
