Andy Arruda Signs on With Hub Pen

Braintree, Massachusetts-based Hub Pen Company has hired Andy Arruda, MAS, as national sales executive. In this position, he is responsible for hiring and managing a growing multi-line sales rep force, coordinating a growing telemarketing effort and working closely with many key accounts across the country.

A 25-year industry veteran, Arruda began his career with BIC Graphic USA, The Colibri Group and Burnes of Boston before founding Distinctive Brands dba pictureframes.Net in 1996. In 2009, he sold the company to R.S. Owens, where he most recently served as vice president of sales.

“My first 10 years in the industry was primarily selling and marketing writing instruments, and I enjoyed it tremendously,” said Arruda. “When the opportunity to join Hub Pen emerged, I was drawn not only to the company’s tremendous product quality but also to its continued growth in this difficult economy—and I wanted to be a part of it.”

An active volunteer, Arruda has been chairman of the PPAI Market & Information Research Committee, served as a member of the PPAI Membership Services Committee and Awards Committee, and is a former board member and charter member of the Premier Group. Additionally, he is a past chairman of the East Bay Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as a Bristol-Warren Education Foundation board member.

“Andy’s strong contacts in the industry, combined with years of experience from both a business and volunteer perspective, give him a wealth of knowledge that will greatly benefit Hub Pen as we continue to grow and build the company,” said Joe Fleming, Hub Pen general manager. “And with his customer-driven approach to sales and business, he is a great fit for our team.”

Arruda is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BS in business administration from Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY).
