Dri Mark, a Port Washington, New York-based company, began its illustrious history 50 years ago as an importer of markers from Japan. Dri Mark introduced the first fine-tipped writing marker, and actually derives its name from the first marker that dried instantly on paper.
In 1972, the Reichmann family purchased Dri Mark and began manufacturing writing instruments, as well as importing them. Some of the company’s top sellers include Mr. Doodler and Buffalo Artist Colors. Dri Mark also created a counterfeit bill detection pen that still remains a leading industry product. As time moved on, the company maintained a strong presence in commercial stationery, and by the early 1980s, Dri Mark entered the promotional products arena.
Dri Mark began purchasing and converting dedicated printing machines in order to manufacture more products in-house. This provided the capability to achieve both faster output and higher quality. The rest, as they say, is history, with Dri Mark earning a top-notch reputation and tremendous success in the promotional products industry—including the development and patenting of the TriMark and Mini Highlighter.
In recent years, Dri Mark again has begun importing some products, all of which are subject to stringent quality testing both pre- and post-manufacturing to ensure they live up to the Dri Mark name. In addition, Dri Mark has expanded into the pen business by representing the branded Zebra line, and introduced the Ink by Dri Mark line of writing instruments.
Dri Mark plans more exciting launches for 2008—some outside the writing instruments arena—to meet the many diverse promotional products needs of customers.
