AIA Welcomes Cynthia Kopesky as New Senior Vice President of Finance

AIA Corporation LogoAIA Corporation (AIA), Appleton, Wisconsin, announced that Cynthia Kopesky, CMA, CPA, has joined the company as senior vice president of finance. Kopesky will serve as a key leader of AIA’s Executive Leadership Team and will provide strategic direction and leadership to implement, manage and control all financial-related activities for the company. She will report to CEO Nancy Schmidt.

As the new head of AIA’s Finance team, Kopesky will assume direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, deal analysis and negotiations.

Kopesky brings more than 15 years of proven financial experience, and most recently served as chief financial officer for Eillien’s Candies Inc. in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In her previous roles as a financial executive, she improved her employers’ financial standings through strategic development, long-term financial planning, process improvement and optimization of enterprise resource planning systems to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Prior to becoming a financial executive, Kopesky spent two decades traveling the world, including six years living with her family in Kenya, Istanbul and the United Arab Emirates.

“My travels have helped shape who I am as a business leader, allowing me to relate to all types of people and cultures, to embrace change and not be afraid to step out of my comfort zone,” said Kopesky. “I look forward to supporting and guiding the strategic direction of AIA to ensure that all financial-related activities lead to increased growth and success for the AIA Community.”

Kopesky earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and is a Certified Management Accountant and Certified Public Accountant. She is currently active in the Professional Women’s Networking of the Fox Cities, serves as the second vice president for Financial Executives International of Northeastern Wisconsin, and was the past president of the Institute of Management Accountants, Winnebago Chapter.
