Last month, we reported that Amazon’s clothing business is growing. Now, according to The Street, Amazon’s clothing business could turn a profit as soon as next year.
Citing KeyBanc Capital Markets reports, The Street reported that Amazon’s apparel business could increase share value by 25 cents.
According to Quartz, Amazon already has introduced more than 1,800 different items in its apparel collection under seven different trademarked brand names—Society New York, Lark & Ro, Scout + Ro, Franklin & Freeman, Franklin Tailored, James & Erin, and North Eleven. Amazon is selling a variety of items, including women’s clothing and bags, men’s tailored apparel, and children’s clothing.
“When we see gaps, when certain brands have actually decided for their own reasons not to sell with us, our customer still wants a product like that,” Jeff Yurcisin, vice president of clothing at Amazon Fashion and CEO of Shopbop, told Quartz.
