QR codes are expected to achieve widespread use this year and are consumer’s solution to immediate access to whatever is relevant. QR codes are similar to the barcodes used by retailers to track inventory and price products. However, QR codes are two-dimensional matrix barcodes that are alphanumeric and can be read by dedicated QR barcode readers and smart phones.
