Come Oct. 1, the Army will be trading up its classic gray workout uniforms for a darker, more technical look, according to Task & Purpose.
These new uniforms feature 32 alternations from the old uniforms with plenty of features meant to aid in performance and increase comfort. Some of the features include: improved identification/key pockets, stretchable lining in the trunks, heat mitigation, female sizing, quick-drying breathable high-performance fabric and usable pockets.
The T-shirts are black with gold text, which many people seem to like, but there are also those that miss the nostalgic look of the classic grey. Personally, this writer is a fan of anything with a Batman color scheme.
The updates came as a result of soldiers’ feedback retrieved by an online survey sent to more than 76,000 soldiers. It turns out, high-performance fabrics were a hot request, as well as steps to increase comfort and fit. And, if the Army is looking for these features, these are probably things to consider for your next performance apparel promotion
