BIC Advertising & Promotional Products (BIC APP), the promotional products division of BIC Group that operates under the BIC Graphic and Norwood trade names, on November 30 announced that CEO Nicolas Paillot will leave the company to pursue external business interests, effective December 31, 2012. Edgar Hernandez, currently the general manager for developing markets, will assume leadership of BIC APP on January 2, 2013. To assist in the transition, Paillot will remain in a consulting capacity through March 2013, primarily focused on the company’s European business.
Hernandez, a BIC veteran of over 24 years, has held several management positions on four different continents, ensuring a well-rounded and experienced view of the business. Hernandez has successfully led his business units to double-digit growth, in large part due to a customer-service-focused approach to business. Until the establishment of BIC APP, he was also responsible for BIC’s promotional products business in developing markets, including Latin America, Asia, Australia and Africa.
Emmanuel Bruno, vice president and general manager of Norwood & BIC Graphic North America since April 2012, will continue leading the North American operation and will report to Hernandez as part of the BIC APP leadership team. Bruno has played an integral part in the merger of Norwood and BIC Graphic, leading the operational restructuring to the current organization of three manufacturing centers-of-expertise. He is based at BIC’s headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., where he and his family reside.
