BIC Graphic North America revived the Souvenir brand Oct. 1 with an initial collection of 14 new pens, plus additional designs launching in early 2019. This collection was designed in-house, and includes exclusive writing instruments with unique features and elevated ink technology.
The Souvenir brand began when A.C. Stewart founded the Souvenir Lead Pencil Company in 1908. By the 1940s, Souvenir was a multi-million dollar international business specializing in promotional imprinting on writing instruments. Norwood Promotional Products acquired Souvenir in 1999 and became part of BIC Graphic North America in 2009.
“We have invested in research and innovation to make sure we honor the 120-year history of the iconic Souvenir brand,” said David Klatt, CEO of BIC Graphic North America. “This new collection is the first step in reviving a brand that reinforces our place as a leading supplier of writing instruments to the promo industry.”
All Souvenir writing instruments will be exclusive and designed in-house for BIC Graphic North America. Distinguishing features include:
- Advanced ink technology
- Unique and modern textures
- Superior design and construction
- Quality and product safety we stand behind
“The Souvenir brand was revived to continue elevating our distinctive writing instrument assortment,” said Yolande Northington, product manager for writing instruments with BIC Graphic North America. “Now is the perfect time to re-establish the Souvenir product line to shake up what’s currently available in the promo industry.”
The initial 14 pen collection that launched on Oct. 1 includes metal, plastic and stylus pens at prices ranging from $0.27 to $2.10 (net EQP). Each pen will include elevated ink technology and prominent branding. BIC Graphic plans to launch additional new Souvenir writing instrument designs early next year, with Souvenir stationery items to follow later in 2019.
