BEL USA, the Miami-based parent company of supplier Bel Promo and distributor DiscountMugs.com, has merged with distributor Branders.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The opportunity presented itself,” Alan Tabasky, BEL USA’s vice president said of the deal that occurred just a few days ago. “Branders was looking for a partner, and BEL wants to be one of the largest promotional product companies.”
Branders.com will become a division of BEL USA, but each division will remain separate from the others. BEL USA’s CEO Amin Rahman also will head Branders.com as its former CEO Jerry McLaughlin steps down, but any further terms of the deal were not released.
“Everything is going to continue as usual [at BEL],” Tabasky said.
The BEL USA family of companies operates out of Florida, while Branders.com has an office in Los Altos, Calif., but is mainly based overseas in the Philippines and China.
