Prime Line, the supplier based in Bridgeport, Conn., announced today two major acquisitions of established factory direct sourcing lines—R.O.I. Line by Source Abroad and Get It Global—in separate, simultaneous transactions.
These deals will enable Prime Line to significantly expand its reach in the overseas sourcing category. “As we continue to grow, it is very important for us to provide faster quotes, more competitive overseas pricing and a greater overall value and ease of process to our customers,” said Jeff Lederer, president of Prime Line. “The expertise we’re acquiring gives distributors a higher confidence level about our sourcing process and capabilities.”
Each of the lines acquired by Prime Line has specific strategic components which attracted Prime to the deals. Both companies have overseas offices in regions of China focusing on merchandising, quality control, inspections and logistics. “The relationships each company has with distributors is another important aspect of why we did these deals. We are thrilled to have them as part of the Prime Line family,” Lederer said.
R.O.I. Line by Source Abroad is a boutique line, which focuses on overseas production of existing items from its diverse product line. Prime Line will also add R.O.I.’s Awareness Line of exclusive cause-related products. Going forward, these lines will be known as R.O.I. by Prime, but there will be no significant operational changes for the line. The company is based in Los Angeles and gives Prime Line a California presence. Company founder Caro Krissman will stay with the line in a consulting capacity. “I’m very excited to have Caro and the rest of the team working with the Prime family as we work to expand the products and services we offer distributors,” Lederer said.
Ohio-based Get It Global, lead by Andrew Brodey, focuses on complete customization of products and packaging. Its expertise is in modifying an existing product or creating a one-of-a-kind item from scratch. Brodey and the line will be integrated into Prime Line’s operations immediately. The company will be known as Get It Global by Prime Line. Orders will be managed by Prime Line after an orderly transition process. “There will be no interruption of service or delays,” Lederer explained.
Both companies are now part of the Prime Line family so any Prime Line sales or customer service representative can check order status. “Distributors are advised to continue sending inquiries and orders to the same place you sent them previously. Or, you may send them to [email protected] and we will make sure they get to the right place. Our objective is to make ordering as easy as possible,” explains Lederer. The new lines will enable the company to expand its sourcing capabilities beyond the categories it has been focused on—bags, drinkware, tech accessories, audio accessories, headwear and stress relievers.
