Businessman and educator Steve Obsitnik announced today, Nov. 15, his candidacy for the U.S. Congress for Connecticut’s fourth district at Prime Line’s headquarters in Bridgeport, Conn.
Jeff Lederer, president of Prime Line, introduced Mr. Obsitnik, who delivered a speech focusing on growing the economy and boosting job creation. With close to 500 employees, Prime Line is one of Bridgeport’s largest employers. “The majority of our employees live here in Connecticut, and it is important for us to be civic-minded,” said Lederer.
“We have a long history of government involvement, and in the past we’ve had many mayors, congressmen and other political figures visit the Prime Line facility,” said Lederer.
Prime has been heavily involved with political issues such as product safety. Prime’s CEO Rick Brenner is one of the promotional products industry’s leading authorities on product safety and meets frequently with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
“There are a lot of timely political issues in the promotional products industry and the more involved we all get, the better chances we all have to help direct the debate,” stated Lederer.
