Cincinnati Reds right fielder Nick Castellanos showed up to the All Star Game red carpet rocking a T-shirt designed by his 7-year-old son, Liam.

Reds fans immediately took notice of the shirt and, as things tend to go with sports apparel, instantly wanted a way to buy their own.
So, the Castellanos boys (Nick and Liam) teamed up with local T-shirt company Cincy Shirts for the “Liam Castellanos Collection.” The company will produce Liam’s custom-designed T-shirt for Reds fans everywhere, with portions of each sale going to the charity of Liam’s choice (which he hasn’t decided yet), according to WHIO.
This isn’t the first child-designed sports T-shirt we’ve seen here at PM HQ. You might remember that the University of Tennessee recreated a young fan’s custom “UT” T-shirt and raised nearly $1 million for STOMP Out Bullying, a nonprofit that works to eradicate bullying from schools.
Pepsi also did something similar last year, partnering with John Krasinski to turn a hand-drawn logo designed by his daughters into a pair of T-shirts, with proceeds going to Restaurant Relief America.
We look forward to seeing what charity the younger Castellanos chooses to donate proceeds from his masterpiece—as there’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, and that’ll be a home run—and we look forward to seeing more ideas like this from other teams.
