SelfEco, a Stillwater, Minnesota-based party and catering ware supplier, has created a new line of compostable party items, including drinkware, catering ware and cutlery.
According to a press release, SelfEco introduced the line of bioplastic items to give caterers and event planners options in eco-friendly, yet stylish and functional items.
“Compostable products should be superior to the non-recyclable, disposable products they replace,” Danny Mishek, president of SelfEco, said in a press release. “You should feel proud and excited to use them. We have transformed compostable party and catering ware from products customers are forced to use to products they want to use because of their quality and appeal.”
The company offers more than 20 unique products, which come in 12 color options. The company manufactures the items using a biocompostable material sourced in the U.S.—a food-grade, food-safe biopolymer derived from plants. The products also are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute.
“SelfEco has created a line of upscale, attractive and durable disposable service ware that fits great into many event and party themes,” Connie Weigel, director of purchasing for Minneapolis-based Kelber Catering, said in the press release.
Previously, we reported that a design student created a biodegradable water bottle made from algae. With more and more companies concerning themselves with environmental issues, biodegradable products could become even more prominent in the promotional products industry.
