CounterPoint, the Las Vegas-based supplier and sister company to DIGISPEC, Visstun, and AwesomeEye, announced the acquisition of Convergence Corporation, from Forest Hill, Md., in a move designed to strengthen the company’s position as the industry’s leading counter mat manufacturer.
This acquisition expands CounterPoint’s line of counter mats by incorporating Convergence Corporation’s exclusive sealed-edge construction. Going forward, this unique, durable product will be branded as Precision Molded counter mats.
“We’ve long respected Convergence’s durable construction and we’re thrilled to incorporate their product lines to offer the industry’s most comprehensive line of counter mats,” said Laura Martinez, sales manager for CounterPoint.
CounterPoint will maintain Convergence Corporation’s Forest Hill production facility and utilize its staff. Convergence Corporation has been producing premium counter mats for over 25 years using American-made materials.
“The experience of their production crew is essential for the manufacturing of Convergence’s specialty products. Having a production facility located in Maryland will also open up many opportunities to accommodate our customers located on the East Coast,” Martinez said.
The exclusive sealed-edge construction molds a high-resolution print between two layers of molten plastic. The base material, either economy foam or DuraTec synthetic rubber, is literally fused to the bottom layer making a counter mat that is airtight, waterproof and almost indestructible.
