Custom Ink Expands to New Jersey With Princeton Storefront

Custom Ink, which recently expanded its brick-and-mortar presence in Virginia, as well as a few locations in Nevada and Texas, has opened a new location in Princeton, N.J. This is the company’s first location in N.J.

According to Planet Princeton, the location will work similarly to other standalone Custom Ink locations, where customers can create and purchase custom apparel on the spot or view products and samples in the store.

“[Custom Ink’s] strong commitment to local business and nonprofits, combined with their massive online presence, is the perfect experiential retailer to join the Palmer Square family,” said Lori Rabon, vice president of Palmer Square, the location of the Custom Ink store. “We look forward to watching their relationships flourish and working with them for years to come.”

Custom Ink has ties to the area already, so the move makes sense. It has been the official licensee of Princeton University since 2016, and has worked with a number of university organizations and student groups.

“From student organizations to local clubs, churches and families, thousands of members of the Princeton community have created and worn Custom Ink apparel, and we are delighted to build even closer relationships in Princeton by opening a local store here,” Bailey Rockwell Adrian, director of licensing and partnership development for Custom Ink, told Planet Princeton. “At Custom Ink’s new Princeton location, customers will be able to meet with our team members to collaborate and create the perfect custom apparel for any group or occasion.”

Six of Custom Ink’s seven new Virginia locations are inside Michaels’ stores, but the company seems intent on opening more standalone storefronts as well. As it expands outside of Virginia, Custom Ink will look to become a go-to location for in-person promotional products shopping. And as it builds local ties in the process, other schools and businesses could follow Princeton University’s lead.
