Cutter & Buck, based in Seattle, has named Laura Saiki as its new golf product line director. Saiki, who spent the past six years at Pebble Beach Company as a private label buyer, brings more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry to the position.
While at Pebble Beach, Saiki’s role was expanded in 2009 to include the men’s golf and resort wear categories. She also was named the lead buyer for the 110th U.S. Open Championship held in 2010 at Pebble Beach, where she managed product selection.
“We are very pleased to be aligning ourselves with an industry professional of Laura’s caliber,” said Julie Snow, vice president of design and merchandising for Cutter & Buck. “Laura will bring great enthusiasm and insight to Cutter & Buck.”
Saiki began her professional career in the golf industry with roles in customer and inside sales for Ashworth, TaylorMade and Gear for Sports, and went on to work in merchandise buying for Texas-based private golf clubs Canyon Creek, Gleneagles and ClubCorp USA. She later was employed in similar roles at The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe (Calif.) and In Celebration of Golf (Scottsdale, Ariz.), prior to joining Pebble Beach Company in February 2006.
Golf has been an integral part of Saiki’s life since she picked up the game at age seven, ultimately leading to a collegiate golf career at the University of Southern California, where she graduated in 1991 with a degree in public administration.
