On September 17, 2013, Seattle-based Cutter & Buck announced its 2014 CB Classics collection. The collection places the accent on versatility and lifestyle with a newly expanded range of wardrobe options, including performance apparel, casual sportswear and professional wearables.
“We cater to the professional with lifestyle sportswear that’s appropriate five days a week in a business setting, as well as on the weekends,” said Joel Freet, corporate national sales manager for Cutter & Buck. “We have seen a shift as the workplace is dressing up a bit more, so Cutter & Buck has responded with an expanded and reinvigorated business professional clothing line.”
The marketplace leader with its Broadview Sweater collection, Cutter & Buck has tripled its offerings for 2014, and now features an array of half-zip, full-zip and traditional V-neck selections: Broadview V-neck Sweater, Sweater Vest and Half Zip Sweater for men; Broadview Scoop Neck Sweater and Cardi for women. All are made from 100 percent combed cotton.
Freet observed that classic easy-care woven shirts are trending for 2014 and that Cutter & Buck has responded with an intensive expansion of its Epic Easy Care family of woven dress shirts, including the introduction of Cutter Gingham and Cutter Bengal styles. The wrinkle-resistant shirts also are now available in an updated classic herringbone and in a current Tattersall plaid, which join existing styles such as nailshead, royal Oxford, solid fine twill, pin stripe and dobby. The Epic Collection now features more than 100 items, including big and tall sizing.
“Our warmer overknits put a premium on wearability, lifestyle performance and professionalism,” Freet said. “They coordinate perfectly with a pair of jeans, but are ideal under a jacket to dress up for a business meeting or to go out for dinner. Plus, they take on an added popularity as the winter season approaches and holiday gift giving ramps up.”
For 2014, Cutter & Buck has expanded its collection of overknits with both classically crafted items such as the Forest Park half-zip double knit and the new Green Lake family of performance overknits. Among the options:
- Vancouver Full Zip for women (95/5 cotton/spandex)
- Forest Park Half Zip for men (97/3 cotton/spandex)
- Overtime Half Zip for men (100 percent cotton)
- Green Lake Half Zip for men and Green Lake Full Zip for women (both 100 percent polyester)
- Arboretum Full Zip Fleece for both men and women; Full Zip Fleece Vest for women (all 100 percent polyester)
- Edge Half Zip for men and Edge Full Zip for women (both 100 percent polyester)
The 2014 Corporate collection also features the launch of the Northgate Polo, a 100 percent polyester double knit polo, for both men and women, that is available in nine colors. The moisture-wicking polo features a sun protection rating of 50 UPF.
“This is an exceptional new modern basic for us,” Freet said. “It carries on the legacy started nearly 25 years ago of staying ahead of the trends for wardrobe building polos.”
