Safeguard Corp., a Dallas-based distributor, recognized Chris O’Connor, the national accounts manager at Philadelphia-based apparel supplier Bodek and Rhodes, with its Above & Beyond Award. O’Connor received the award at Safeguard’s annual Vendor Appreciation Reception at the PPAI Expo last month in Las Vegas.
“I am humbled by this honor,” O’Connor said. “I don’t like to talk about myself, but I will say it sure feels great when your customers recognize your efforts. I love working with the pros at Safeguard, and helping them grow their business.”
After 10 years of having sales growth as an inside and outside sales representative, O’Connor was promoted to his current role. He was given this honor after working with Safeguard’s 200 reps for only 18 months.
“I am not surprised at all that Chris, after only working with these folks for a short time, was selected for this award,” Bodek’s national sales director Marc Held said. “He’s the kind of guy that gets in front of people, educates, services, responds and becomes the one-stop shop for all their apparel needs very quickly because of his hard work ethic and excellent follow-up.”
