Fey Promotional Products Group to Acquire Molenaar

Fey Promotional Products Group, Edgerton, Minn., announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with Wilson Tool International Inc., owners of Molenaar LLC, to acquire the assets of Molenaar. The transaction closing will follow in June.

The acquisition brings together two of the foundational suppliers of the promotional products industry. Since 1960, Molenaar has produced injection molded products used primarily in households including the patented “World’s Best Pizza Cutter.” Fey Promotional Products Group began its operation in 1965 and continues as a leader in office and desk products such as Peel-n-Stick adhesive calendars, ring binders, insurance card holders, tally books, and its proprietary break-through Color Rich decorating technique.

“I’m very excited about the acquisition of Molenaar and its potential for our family business,” said Mike Fey, MAS of Fey Promotional Products Group. “With both of our firms being Minnesota-based, we know each other very well. The addition of injection molding brings a broad product line with no overlap to our current products of Fey-Line or Reflectix by Fey.”

“Molenaar also expands the depth and breadth of our U.S.A.-made promotional products offered at various price points coupled with the high level of service and commitment for which Fey has always strived,” Fey added.

Ron Williams, marketing director for Fey Promotional Products Group, said, “Molenaar’s ‘place your advertising message in the home’ product line brings a new platform and ability to expand useful product offerings to our loyal distributor customers. It truly is a perfect fit and we have everything in place to take Mi-Line to the next level.”

With the acquisition of Molenaar, Fey Promotional Products Group continues to expand organically and through acquisitions. In 2009, the company acquired Reflectix, which produces reflective safety and event-based promotional products using a patented reflective technology allowing an individual to be visible in car headlights from 500 feet away.
