Last year, Forever 21 made headlines thanks to its clothing line with Taco Bell. It was creative, humorous and millennials loved it. For Forever 21’s latest exclusive collaboration, we have to admit we’re scratching our heads. According to HighSnobiety, Forever 21 is working with Honda for a vintage-inspired racing capsule collection.
When we think millennials, we think Supreme apparel, millennial pink and avocado toast, but not Honda. But, perhaps the company is trying to appeal to a new demographic, and it’s possible Forever 21 could be the catalyst.
The new collection will feature vintage Honda designs from the early 1980s, as it will be reminiscent of action sportswear of the 1990s. The men’s looks will feature T-shirts, pullover sweaters and racing jackets. The women’s apparel will feature crop tops, T-shirts and skirts.
As part of the partnership, Forever 21 is holding a contest to give away a new motorcycle.
Will Honda be the next big name in branded apparel? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. We can at least say it looks like racing stripes are on-trend for 2018.
