Gildan Activewear Inc. recently announced the appointment of Russ Hagey to its board of directors, effective Nov. 1, 2013.
Hagey is a senior partner and the worldwide chief talent officer of Bain & Company Inc., one of the world’s leading management consulting firms. He joined the firm in 1982 and has worked in its San Francisco, Los Angeles, Zurich and Amsterdam offices. As chief talent officer, Hagey oversees Bain’s recruiting, professional development, training and human resources functions for nearly 6,000 global professionals and staff across 50 offices in 32 countries. He also has client leadership responsibilities in the areas of consumer products and health care services. Hagey holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He also serves on a number of community and not-for-profit boards.
With the addition of Hagey, Gildan’s board of directors now comprises 10 members, of which nine are independent of management.
