HanesBrands Inc., Winston-Salem, N.C., the official apparel supplier of the National Park Foundation and a premier partner of the Find Your Park/Encuentra Tu Parque movement, celebrated National Park Week at the Alternative Apparel retail store in Venice, Calif. From April 20 – 28, a variety of special programs and events were hosted across the country in celebration of National Park Week.
The Alternative Apparel store hosted an innovative audio experience with sounds of national parks across the country piped throughout the store. As part of the immersive event, an isolated area created a space for mindful listening, giving visitors a respite from the sounds of the city.
“This really special audio experience makes people feel like they’re in the middle of a national park, especially when they close their eyes and listen,” said Stefanie Mathew, vice president of corporate partnerships at the National Park Foundation. “The National Park Foundation is thrilled that HanesBrands and Alternative Apparel are helping us bring parks to people and inspire more people to care about these treasured places.”
“The partnership with the National Park Foundation is a natural fit for Hanes, as our commitment to comfort goes far beyond the clothing we create,” said Rachel Newman, general manager and vice president of Hanes Activewear. “It’s about establishing and maintaining eco-friendly practices and standards. We are committed to ethical, sustainable business practices that currently set the standard for apparel manufacturers worldwide.”
