Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast on Friday evening, bringing with it winds and flooding across the most populated corridor in the United States.
Estimates of the damage are still coming in as millions in the U.S. have been left without power. As of noon Tuesday, at least 33 are reported deadin the U.S., bringing the total death toll to 67.
Areas in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. have all reported damage ranging from flooding to power outages. More than 13 million people lost power as a result of the storm, many of whom were still in the dark on Tuesday morning. The New York Times is compiling a state-by-state breakdown of the damages.
Businesses all along the coast have closed or are operating at reduced capacity as a result of the storm. FedEx and UPS have both reported delays of two to three days in the region. In addition, several promotional products suppliers and distributors have reported issues.
